When California plastic surgeon & microtia specialist Dr. Sheryl Lewin picks up her Artec Space Spider 3D scanner, magic is about to happen. In less than a minute, the scanner digitally captures a young patient's normal-sized ear in lifelike color 3D. In the days to come, these Space Spider scans will be transformed into an extremely-realistic implant made of porous polyethylene. After the implant is surgically placed, the young patient has an ear that's both beautiful and built to last a lifetime.
